Keanu Reeves is in talks to star in The Gangster, the Cop, the Devil, Paramount Pictures’ reimagining of the 2019 South Korean crime thriller. James Wan is attached to direct the project, which Paramount first set with the filmmaker earlier in 2026. Don Lee, also known as Ma Dong-seok, is set to reprise the role he played in the original film. The original story follows a police detective and a gangster who reluctantly join forces to hunt a serial killer.

Reeves has not been officially cast, and details about his character remain under wraps. Plot specifics for the new version and a production schedule have not been announced. The negotiations add significant star power to one of Paramount’s higher-profile genre projects in development.
