India’s unscripted production activity includes local versions of international formats and homegrown reality series, according to reporting available before October 11, 2026. Deadline reported on June 15 that Prime Video’s Alliance was scheduled for a June 26 worldwide launch. Banijay Asia produced the first international adaptation of Talpa Studios’ Dutch format, created by John de Mol.

In a July 26 Deadline interview, Netflix India executive Monika Shergill said Lock Upp had accumulated 50 million viewing hours since its launch the previous month. She also discussed developing major global formats for India. These earlier developments illustrate format investment without relying on later MIPCOM interviews or claiming a newly measured October surge.
