CAA, WME and UTA are participating in the American Entertainment Alliance, TheWrap reported on October 15, 2026. The initiative also involves producers including Jason Blum, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Peter Chernin. The alliance is seeking legislation that would require major entertainment companies to devote half of their original-content budgets to independent shows and films produced in the United States by non-studio entities.

TheWrap's account cites reporting by The New York Times and names Netflix, Disney, Amazon and Skydance among the companies the proposal would target. Supporters argue that greater purchasing from outside producers could expand production activity and employment opportunities. The spending requirement is a proposal advocated by the alliance, not an enacted law.
