Reese Witherspoon's production company Hello Sunshine has reportedly reduced its workforce by approximately 50 percent as the business undergoes a major restructuring.

The layoffs affect roughly 30 employees following Witherspoon's recent acquisition of the company alongside media partner Mediawan.

Hello Sunshine is shifting its focus toward film and television production, Reese's Book Club, and selected marketing and partnership operations.

The restructuring follows a period of significant changes in the entertainment investment landscape, particularly for independent production companies and content brands.

Hello Sunshine was previously acquired by Candle Media in 2021 at a reported valuation of approximately $900 million.

Witherspoon and Mediawan subsequently reacquired the business in October 2026 for a reported price substantially below that earlier valuation.

The changes reflect a renewed emphasis on core production activities as the company evaluates its future development and operating strategy.
