Hulu ordered Ryan Coogler's reimagining of The X-Files to series on October 13, 2026, according to Deadline. Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel will star as two accomplished FBI agents whose contrasting personalities shape an unlikely partnership. Their assignment takes them to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena.

Coogler wrote, directed and executive produced the pilot through Proximity Media. Jennifer Yale serves as showrunner, with original series creator Chris Carter among the executive producers. The project comes from Onyx Collective and 20th Television, and the announcement did not include a premiere date.
