Netflix has appointed former Google Cloud executive Darshan Kantak as vice president of its advertising platform. Kantak will oversee advertising products, engineering, and data and insights teams supporting the streaming service's global advertising operations. He previously served as vice president of product for Applied AI at Google Cloud and held leadership positions at Snap, Meta, Microsoft, and Yahoo.

Kantak will report to Netflix advertising president Amy Reinhard. The appointment comes as Netflix projects approximately $2.7 billion in advertising revenue for 2026, below its previous $3 billion forecast. Netflix also plans to expand its ads plan into 15 additional countries in 2027.
