MIPCOM Cannes is scheduled to run October 12–15, 2026, at the Palais des Festivals, according to advance reporting published by Tubefilter on September 9. Distribution remains central to the market as buyers and sellers prepare to meet. In a September 22 Deadline interview, event director Lucy Smith described a broader agenda covering intellectual property, branded entertainment, vertical drama and artificial intelligence.

The program includes the new MIP AI Entertainment Forum and MIP BrandWorks initiative. Smith linked the wider focus to changing industry economics and the search for financing beyond traditional sources. The October 11 outlook concerns the announced program, not agreements or results from the main market that has yet to open.
